purple sprouting broccoli with anchovies

This dish makes an ideal accompaniment to grilled fish or lamb.

500g purple sprouting broccoli, trimmed
5-6 anchovy fillets
2 tbsp olive oil
2 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1/2 red chilli, seeded and chopped

Cook the psb in salted boiling water for 5 minutes.

Chop the anchovy fillets, then heat the oil in a pan, and cook garlic and chilli for 1 minute. Before the garlic browns, add the ahcnov,es. remove from the heat, and mash with a wooden spoon until they have almost completely disintegrated.

Drain the psb and add to the anchovy pan. mix well, and cook over a low heat for a further 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
