As a result of learning how to make a fruit cake many years ago, I have ended up making fruit cakes for the entire family. Normally I only make a big one at Xmas for taking around to my sisters for all to enjoy. But also the request does come in for the production of the bases for wedding cakes.
First my brothers, a 3 tier square wedding cake, and now my niece's event has asked for a 3 tier heart shaped cake. 2 tiers done already, just the final one to go before my niece shows up on Wednesday to do a bit of babysitting and to pick up the cakes.
