chicken and ham pierating:
You will need:
1 Ham Shank (you can also use ham pieces, but i find this a cheaper and tastier option)
2 large chicken breasts or legs
Approx. 8 broccoli florets
Small carton of cream
Cornflour to thicken sauce
Parsley and seasoning
Puff pastry (or shortcrust)
Slow roast the ham shank for approx 2 hours and allow to cool, removing all of the meat from the bone. (keep the skin to make crackling if you wish)
Preheat oven to 180c
Chop and fry off the half onion
Slice up the chicken and add to the onion, turnig till cooked. seasoin with some parsley and black pepper
Chop the carrots and broccoli and add to the pan, warming through.
Add ham, mix well and turn into a large pie dish.
In the pan, add the cream and a little milk, bringing to a simmer, and add cornflour to make a sauce. Pour over the pie mix.
Roll out puff pastry (i buy ready made as i'm not that good at pastry) and cover pie dish.
Place in a moderate oven (180c) for about 40 mins.
