I consider myself quite a lucky boy! My mother stopped cooking for me when I was 11, due to me spending so much of my time outside on the farm, (when not at school), playing with old cars and motorbikes and shooting bunnies. Quite simply, I was told there was no point cooking for me if I wasn't there! Leftovers also got left. It was a no nonsense household, and my mother loved me..."You'll just have to cook for yourself then!" was the threat, which was actually considered more like a gift! Since then, I haven't looked back. I am obsessed with food, ingredients, with quality, and with experimenting, (I almost relish mistakes - it keeps you humble and you always learn something you can apply immediately!).
